she put on her new clothes,
and her broken-in chucks.
tamed her freshly cut hair,
looked like a millions bucks.
walked a different way to work,
and it started to rain.
she felt out of her element,
aboard the stranger-filled train.
she'd been spoiled by the sun,
the rays of laughter and cheer.
now the clouds have taken over,
and the sky has shed a tear.
but she knew that it would pass,
and the sadness would not last.
but the moment swept her away,
like a whirlpool in the bay.
once she pulled herself together,
and took her mind off the gloomy weather,
she knew it would all be ok,
and began to embrace the rainy day.
